Is it possible to book our visit (2 adults) in advance?

Is it recommended to reserve a visiting time frame in advance to optimize our time at the museum ?

  • Dear Jasmin,

    Thank you for your request!

The Vasa Museum don’t sell, or reserve tickets or time slots online.

You can see the opening hours here; http://www.vasamuseet.se/en/visit

The entrance fee for adults is 130 SEK. Children up to 19 years of age don't pay entrance fee. Students with a valid student ID pays 100 SEK.

We recommend about 90 minutes in the museum, if you participate in a guided tour and see the film about the Vasa, but the visit can of course be both shorter and longer than that.

You can visit the museum without a guided tour or bring your own/an authorized Stockholm guide to guide your group in the museum.

If you would like to book a private guided tour with a Vasa guide the cost is 600 SEK for up to 30 persons. A private guided tour with a Vasa guide need to be booked prior to the visit at Bokningen.vasa@maritima.se or tel: +46(0)8 51954870.

You can also download a mp3 guide to your smart phone, when here or at home; http://www.vasamuseet.se/besok/audioguide
The film about the Vasa is screened in the museum three times every hour in different languages.
Schedule for the film screenings; http://www.vasamuseet.se/en/visit/filmscreenings

Very welcome to the Vasa Museum!

  • I do not have a phone to download the audio guide. Are headsets available at the museum for using the audio guide?

I am assuming that you cannot book your free guided tour specific time in advance?

    thank you!

    Karla Kahn
  • Dear Karla,

    Thank you for your questions!

Unfortunately, there are no headsets for the audio guides available in the museum.

It is not necessary to book places on the open guided tours. From June 1 to August 31, there are open English guided tours that starts every half hour between 9:30 and 16:30.

    Welcome!
